Information about the survey to evaluate The Virtual Pharmacy

25% of survey complete.
You are invited to participate in the research project The Virtual Pharmacy: Development of an interactive virtual pharmacy application, which is being conducted by researchers from the Schools of Biomedical Science & Pharmacy, Medicine, and Design, Communication & I.T.

Why is the research being done?
As the opportunities to experience a community pharmacy are limited to timetabled placements, we have collaborated with the Design, Communication and I.T. discipline to create a virtual pharmacy which can be explored via a computer simulation. We are investigating if this is an effective way of learning about the layout and products that are available in a pharmacy prior to or in addition to the placement opportunities. We seek your assistance in evaluating the virtual pharmacy application by completing this questionnaire.

What choice do you have?
Participation in this research is entirely your choice. You are under no obligation to complete any part of the evaluation survey. Whether or not you decide to participate, your decision will not disadvantage you in any way. If you do decide to participate, you may withdraw from the project at any time without giving a reason.

What would you be asked to do?
If you agree to participate, you are asked to complete this short questionnaire which will take about 10 minutes.

What are the risks and benefits of participating?
There is little risk for participating. The questions do not seek sensitive information. However, if there are any questions you do not want to answer you can simply leave them blank. There are no direct benefits to you for participating.

How will your privacy be protected?
The survey is completely anonymous. We would encourage you to answer all questions, but if there are any that you are concerned might identify you, then you can simply not answer those. No data is stored to link you to your submitted responses. All the data will kept securely on password-secured computers at the University of Newcastle. Your answers will be pooled with others and analysed, and will not identify any individual.

How will the information collected be used?
The data will be used to help develop the teaching and delivery planning in the MPharm program in Newcastle. We will publish the results in scientific journals to help inform and guide the development of programs elsewhere. We will also provide you with a copy of the final results.

What do you need to do to participate?
Please read this Information Statement and be sure you understand its contents before you decide whether to complete the evaluation survey.
